City & Guilds Centre for Skills Development

Dear Colleague,

I hope you have had the best of starts to 2010. CSD’s first e-newsletter of the year includes a look back at the launch of our Training for Rural Development report, which focuses on the need for agricultural and enterprise skills for women smallholders in developing countries. We have launched a website dedicated to the research project - www.skillsdevelopment.org/T4RD - which I would encourage you to visit. We would greatly welcome your feedback on the website and the report itself.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the external contributors to this issue of the newsletter: Liane Cresswell of the National Skills Forum, Simon Reddy and Cathy Robertson of Boland College.

I hope you find the articles of interest and that you will feel free to forward our newsletter to your colleagues. If you have any comments or would like to contribute to future editions, please contact the editor.

Kind regards,

Nick Grist
Senior Programme Manager
