KEITS Ltd

Project purpose

KEITS Ltd is an independent training provider based in Hertfordshire, offering Intermediate and Advanced Apprenticeships in horse care, animal care, horticulture and floristry. It is the UK’s leading private training provider specialising in Apprenticeships and Diplomas in land-based industries. It has also branched into other sectors to deliver team leading, management, customer service and business administration qualifications.

Project approach

KEITS has a national reach working with a variety of businesses from large national businesses to smaller concerns with one or two employees. Learners can gain vocational qualifications, and qualifications in Key or Functional Skills and First Aid through participation on an Apprenticeship programme. Learners benefit from the support of an experienced, dedicated and well-trained staff team who ensure they are able to complete courses without taking time off work to attend college. This is achieved by regular visits (four to six weeks) from a personal assessor to the work place to assess learners’ individual needs and progress. These visits allow assessment of learners’ progress on performing work tasks (practical skills), development of related vocational knowledge, the setting of new targets and work goals and to collate a portfolio of evidence to reflect learners’ achievement.

Key benefits and impact
  • Real work based learning and experience for learners
  • Being able to earn and learn at the same time
  • Being able to gain nationally recognised qualifications
  • Improved job satisfaction
  • Employers being able to utilise the Apprenticeship pay scales
  • Employers not losing staff for a day a week to attend college
  • Improved staff retention and relevant Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
