BIS research calls on FE sector to collaborate with universities on HE provision

A government research
report on higher education (HE) in further education (FE)
colleges highlights successful collaborations between FE and HE
institutions. The report predicts that FE-based degrees that
prepare learners for university study, such as Foundation Degrees,
Higher National Certificates, and Higher National Diplomas, will
continue to expand. HE in FE was found to complement rather than
compete with courses at HE institutions, and to offer a more
employer-facing and vocational form of HE.
